WEB Kidz

West Edmonton Baptist (WEB) has classes for kids aged up to Grade 6 during the Sunday morning worship service and during the week. They are split into age-appropriate groups and led by a fantastic team of security-screened volunteers who really love to connect with the kids. We are committed to building a spiritual foundation in kids in partnership with their parents.

Our aim is to provide a safe, secure and caring environment where parents feel comfortable leaving their children. We ensure that our volunteers receive mandatory training in child protection and safety. This includes security screenings and reference checks. Everyone who teaches, helps, or cares for children is expected to adhere to policies which are intended to protect both the children and the volunteers.

If your child is unwell we would ask that you please keep him/her at home, as we do not want to put the other children at risk. In the event of an injury or the onset of an illness during a Kidz program, parents/guardians will be contacted.

At WEB we take the responsibility of caring for your children very seriously. We consider it an honour. We look forward to serving you and your child(ren) should you choose to have them participate in this ministry with us.

Nursery

The West Edmonton Baptist Nursery is designed for children up to 36 months of age.

Kidz Church

WEB Youth

WEB Youth meets on Friday evenings during the school year. For youth, Grades 7-12.

WEB Youth exists for youth to have an environment in which they can actively get to know God by studying His Word, playing in His creation, and serving those around us. Our motto is “Loving God by Loving others”, which simply means that when we love those around us, whether that’s shown through sportsmanship during game time, listening during Bible studies, honoring our parents/guardians at home, respecting teachers and classmates at school, etc., we are loving God.

During the school year, WEB Youth meets weekly on Friday nights at 7:00 pm with games, food, and a short devotional, ending the night at 9:00 pm. We also have the occasional event outside the church.

Women’s Bible Study Life Group: Prayer, Share, and Care
Hebrews 10:23-25(NIV) “Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess for He who promised is faithful. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”

All women are invited to join the Women’s Bible Study Lifegroup that meets each Thursday at 7:00 pm. Each week one of the ladies prepares a devotional based on the Bible, which in many cases relate to experiences or circumstances in which He spoke to them through His Word. These devotionals serve as a reminder and an encouragement of how to live as children of God. The group also takes time to pray and care for each other.  For more information, please contact Sandy Honecker – [email protected].

Choral Worship Team

As part of the Worship Team rotation, the Choral Worship Team leads the congregation in worship approximately every 5 weeks from September until Spring. We present special choral arrangements and lead the congregation in singing a variety of types of music, hymns, and modern worship songs. The team is an opportunity to grow spiritually as well as musically. New members (adults and teens, grade 7+) are always welcome. We practice Thursday evenings from 6:30 until 8:00.

Food Bank Depot

We distribute hampers to those who live nearby as part of the broader Food Bank organization in the City of Edmonton every Wednesday from 3:00pm – 5:00pm. Please check our Events Calendar for Food Bank Depot closures.

Join a Ministry Team

Ministry Teams are a great way to get involved, meet others within our church family and serve together at WEB.

They help make things run smoothly during Sunday worship and other gatherings. In serving, we honour God, bless each other, and grow in our relationships.

As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace.
1 Peter 4:10

Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; and there are varieties of service, but the same Lord; and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who empowers them all in everyone.
1 Corinthians 4:7

If you’d like to get involved, take a look at the list of ministry opportunities below and email the church office at [email protected] with the area you’d like to serve in! Please note that some ministry teams require the completion of child protection training and/or church membership.
